Reducing Wildfire Risk Could Save $500 Billion In Future Losses

The National Research Council of Canada (NRC) recently released a report titled “National guide for wildland-urban-interface fires.” The Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction (ICLR) then followed with an impact analysis of its findings.  The analysis found that implementing the advice outlined in the NRC Guide would cost approximately $125 billion, which accounts for a quarter of the losses that could be prevented.
